Specialties

Do you feel trapped by unhealthy cycles? Do you want to make meaningful change but don’t know where to start? Let’s start by honoring who you are, and what happened to you. You’re not stuck, and you’re worthy of healing, connection, and joy.

Our work to support your healing from trauma starts with a meaningful and safe therapeutic connection. You survived, and now you might live life on high-alert, prepared and feeling like danger lives around the corner. It might feel hard to relax, and impossible to breathe easy. We will work to support you and your nervous system with compassion and understanding. There is no timeline for trauma healing—we will take time to take notice, understand, and respond to all of you and your needs.

After building a strong and trusting space in our sessions, you will likely be invited to engage in various modes of creative expression, guided imagery, and mindfulness exercises. I will always invite the big emotions (tears are always welcome in this space!). We will set and achieve goals to support you achieving freedom from past trauma. I will support you in reclaiming power, developing a strong and empowering sense of you, and creating a meaningful and healthy mind-body connection.

Trauma Therapy and Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

“My path may be different, but I am not lost.”

Chronic Illness and Chronic Pain

Having a chronic illness can feel like your world has come to an end. It feels like a part of you is staring to work against you, and perhaps you’ve started to resent yourself. You might feel disconnected from yourself, or like you can’t do the things you once dreamt about because you’re sick all the time.

Navigating the web of chronic illness can be messy. Let’s work together and honor all of you—yes, even the parts of you that right now you might not be getting along with or feel like they’re working against you. We will work together to squash stereotypes and internal judgements, build meaning and understanding of your capabilities, and fight the feeling of being sick all the time.

With chronic illness, it feels like everything changes. We will work to establish meaning and management of chronic illness symptoms. This work might include mindfulness and meditation practices, exploration and establishment of a healthy sense of self, or practice and skills to support with medical advocacy.

“We repeat what we don’t repair.”

Anxiety, Depression, and Mood Disorders

Racing thoughts interfering with your ability to sleep at night, complete your work, or study for your exams? Or maybe you’re just feeling meh all the time, and you’re not interested in the things you used to spend your time doing. Perhaps you’re catching yourself comparing yourself to your peers and you’ve noticed your self-esteem take a dive. Maybe the hopelessness has crept in.

It’s uncomfortable to catch your heart racing, pounding fast, or your hands getting sweaty. You’re not alone, and you’re not as out-of-control as you feel! You’re not crazy and you’re not alone. We will practice skills—including mindfulness, grounding, and “thinking” skills, in-session for symptom management, intended also to support lasting changes and giving space for all of you.

You might feel disconnected from yourself, or like your words are constantly running away from you. It might feel impossible to build motivation to get up and go. Or perhaps you’re contemplating your existence, why you’re here, and the meaning of your life. Let’s explore that together, through honoring where you came from, who you are, and where you’re going.
